Sakura Viewing @ Fudonotaki Park

Early in April we went to a park called Fudonotaki (ふどのたき) to go see the sakura. This park is up a mountain and it has a waterfall (taki in Japanese means waterfall). While it isn't the biggest park with the most sakura trees, it definitely was beautiful.

We went when it was mostly full bloom but also when the petals were already starting to fall so the effect was wonderful. Watching the individual petals fall and blow in the wind is amazing.

We took a video, which we uploaded to YouTube, it is also below:

From the video you can see I took my camera, I took some photos and here they are!

Konpira-san Shrine

Today we went to Kotohira to climb the stairs to get to the Konpira-san Shinto shrine.

It was a very long climb and we took an abundance of photos! There were amazing views of the countryside and mountains from up top. The shrine wasn't our thing, but it was definitely beautiful.

In Japan

Hello everyone.

Camilo and I have been in Japan for almost two weeks now! It has been a super fun adventure so far.

Let me run down a few things for you:
1. The mountains are gorgeous here, we are not used to this since Florida is so flat.
The bus ride from Osaka to Takamatsu

2. Nikuman ((肉まん) is the bomb! It is basically like a dumpling with sweet bread. Unfortunately it is only here during the winter time; Japan is really big on seasonal foods.
Delicious nikuman from a konbini (convenience store)

3. Our apartment is not as small as we thought! We have a kitchen, a bedroom and a living room, with a bathroom of course.

4. Japanese people do not believe in dryers (well they do but most households do not have one). So, you need to hang your clothes outside, and if it is windy pray that your clothes do not end up in someone else's lawn and then you have to Google translate what to say to your neighbor to get your clothes back.

5. They have a mascot for everything, even an electrical plant.
She's saying it's dangerous!

TTFN, ta ta for now!
